Tyra “Tyralucia” Dennis, the young aspiring singer, songwriter and musician that has accomplished a lot in a short amount of time. She has performed with many greats including Jackson Brown, Keb Mo’, Chaka Kahn, Herbie Hancock, Ali Woodson from the Temptations, Ike Turner, Wayne Shorter, YoYo, DJ Spark, Stevie Wonder and many more. Not only did she perform with those acclaimed musical masterminds, she also recorded an up beat swinging version of “Let The Good Times Roll” with Ray Charles and Slash from Guns and Roses. Below are what a few had to say of that experience:

“She’s awesome. Maybe she should be our singer,” -Matt Sorum drummer of “Guns N’ Roses” (Ray of Hope, 2003)

“Slash drips his trademark blues juice over the backbeat, but it quickly becomes apparent that singer Tyra Dennis is the real star here. The 15-year-old tears into “Let the Good Times Roll” with the passion, confidence and chops of a young Aretha Franklin” -Ray Of Hope (2003)

Tyra has had the opportunity to perform at The Playboy Jazz Festival in 2004 not to mention that her career was launched in 2003 when she was discovered by her high school band teacher (Fernando Pullum) and a local farmer’s market shopper (Toni Cervantes). Together, they helped her through the launching of the very first Apple I-pod commercial where she showcased her fun loving personality while singing “Get the party started” by multi-platinum recording artist Pink.

Given the opportunity to assist Brandon Rainey (winner of the 2006 Spike Lee Award) in his annual summer productions as a songwriter and more recently a musical director, where she found herself exploring a realm of her talent that had been hidden. Being honored to head the music department of CBG Enterprises she continuously thanks God for his many blessings. With this position, she has been able to create all new music for original musicals and tour the country showcasing and performing them. She served as the music director for CBG from 2003-2014
